The JBL Go 5 is a small Bluetooth speaker with an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating and soft lighting around its edges. It may suit people who want a light speaker to toss in a bag, and JBL pitches it for beach days and surprise rain.
Product details
- IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating; JBL also describes it as drop-proof
- JBL lists up to 8 hours of playtime, plus about 2 more with Playtime Boost
- Ambient edge lighting with selectable themes and cues for power, pairing and battery
- AirTouch pairs two Go 5 speakers as a stereo set when you bump them together
- About 3.98 x 3.05 x 1.7 inches and 0.51 pounds, in Black
Why you might like it
- If you bring music to the beach or out in the rain, the IP68 rating covers both water and dust.
- If a friend also has a Go 5, AirTouch links the two into left and right stereo.
- If you already own Auracast-enabled JBL speakers, you can connect several of them for wider sound.
- If you like visual feedback, the edge lighting signals power, pairing and battery status.
Good to know
- The listing's 10-hour battery figure includes Playtime Boost; the base figure is up to 8 hours.
- Stereo or multi-speaker pairing needs a second Go 5 or other Auracast-enabled JBL speakers.
